Aeronautical Engineer from Madras Institute of Technology ,Chennai, M. E (Aeronautical Engineering), IIScBangalore, India and Ph. D (Aerospace Engineering), IISc., Bangalore, India.

 

Experienced aerospace expert with over 32+ years of service in R&D, Engineering, Academia & Skill development sector.

Dr. Brahma research work was on fatigue crack propagation of metallic materials. He was awarded with Mrs. Sabita Chaudhuri Memorial Medal from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. (1989)

 

Dr. Brahma was involved in high-technology projects on Aerospace & Defense during his tenure as Scientist in NAL and has received recognition as an outstanding contributor on 2 different occasions.

As a part of professional career, he has worked in various fatigue related projects of aircraft like LCA, LTA, Fighter aircraft, Military Transport aircraft, Military Helicopters, Single Aisle, Long Range, Widebody from customers like NAL, Ministry of Defense, ARDB, ADA, Airbus (Germany), Airbus (Toulouse), P&W (USA).

✓  Spearheading the establishment of Centre of Excellence in Aerospace Structural Design & Analysis in BNA


✓ Instrumental in design and development of QP based, NSQF aligned course materials for Aerospace Structural Design and Analysis in BNA.


✓ Instrumental in ongoing development of digital contents of Aerospace Engineering for 3 job roles
✓ Preparation of analysis approach documents and F&DT justification reports for Airbus
✓ Technical support to various repair related projects – SRM (Structural Repair Manual) for ESG (Extended Service Goal) and DRR (Daily Repair Request) for in-service aircraft and Extended Service Goal concession review
✓ Maiden testing of a fighter airframe for which NAL bagged a project from IAF for total life extension of an operational fighter aircraft
✓ Setting up of bi-axial shake table for which NAL has been generating constant revenue in the close to crore for past so many years
✓ Setting up of test facility in NAL for fatigue test of tail rotor blade of helicopter under simulated flight load conditions as opposed to conventional constant amplitude loading
✓ Calendar life extension of fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopter and total technical life extension of fighter aircraft and tail rotor blade (TRB) of military helicopter
✓ Instrumented flight load measurements of TRB of helicopter and tail plane of an operational fighter aircraft
